Coving provides a curved, sealed and continuous surface between the floor and the wall, eliminating sharp corners or gaps.

Coving also allows easier access for cleaning, eliminates hiding places for bugs, and prevents moisture from deteriorating the wall. It is often used specifically in areas where hygiene is important &/or a watertight seal is necessary.
